Heart Rangers
A volunteer group, known as the Heart Rangers, has been in existence since April of 2006 in Hidden Valley Ranch.
These volunteers are certified in CPR (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation) and the use of the AED (automated external defibrillator). This certification is renewed every 2 years and the expense of certification is maintained by the HVR association. A paging system is in place whereby anyone in the park can summon help on a 24 hour basis. five AEDs are available; Clubhouse, Exercise Room, Activities Bldg, one each on the two teams.
Since its beginnings this group of volunteers has responded to many calls and has been helpful in many ways. At the time of an emergency one of the responders stays with the “victim”, another will be helpful to loved ones, and yet another will get the ambulance to the right place in a timely manner. As you can see, these volunteers are good to have around in any emergency!
As of 01/01/2017, there are 17 Heart Rangers. If you would like more information concerning this most helpful group please contact Sharon Radl.
