Christmas Angel Tree Project
18 December 2014
On behalf of the Christmas Angel Tree Project, I want to thank all those who participated in any manner – gift buyer, donator of money or package helper! Without you, the project would fall apart very quickly.
There have been rumblings about the number of collections taken up this year. Let me explain a bit: the collection at the general membership meeting was to provide money for the purchase of family essentials, i.e., shampoo, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. by the school counselor.
The money that was donated at the children’s Christmas program was delivered to Flores Elementary School, marked for Mr. David Loya, the music director. He will buy items to be used in next year’s Christmas program, i.e., sheet music, material for costumes, the wrapping paper for their prop boxes, etc.
Next year, we hope to do a better job of providing dates without conflicts between the newsletter, the website, and rock mail, and stating when the gift delivery is to take place at the school. If you have any complaints about the Angel Tree Project, I invite you to get involved with it and help make it right. I am, indeed, looking for a volunteer to take over the project!
Thanks again to all my volunteers, and the many members of Hidden Valley Ranch who donated time, money or both to make the lives of some of the Flores Elementary children a lot nicer this Christmas. WELL DONE!
